Oil Tank Installation & Maintenance Wimborne

Oil Tank Installation & Maintenance Wimborne
At Thorne & Thorne, we regularly work alongside homeowners and developers to deliver reliable heating and plumbing solutions as part of larger refurbishment projects. This recent project in High Hall, Wimborne involved the complete upgrade of the oil heating systems across two semi-detached properties undergoing renovation.

The aim was to modernise the heating infrastructure, improve efficiency and ensure both homes were fitted with safe, dependable systems ready for long-term use.

The Project

The refurbishment works included upgrades to the oil storage systems, oil supply lines and boiler installations for both properties.

One of the existing oil tanks was retained and professionally cleaned to remove any residue or contaminants that had built up over time. New filters were then installed to help maintain clean fuel delivery and support the ongoing performance of the heating system.

Alongside this, we supplied and installed a completely new oil tank for the neighbouring property. Both tanks were fitted with Watchman oil level monitors, allowing the homeowners to easily keep track of fuel levels and avoid unexpected shortages.

As experienced engineers providing services including oil boiler service, we understand the importance of combining practicality, reliability and safety in every installation.

New Oil Lines and Safety Features

As part of the refurbishment, two entirely new oil supply lines were installed to feed the boilers efficiently and safely. Each line was fitted with new filters and fire valves to comply with current safety standards and provide added protection for the properties.

Oil filters play a vital role in preventing contaminants from reaching the boiler system, helping to maintain efficiency and reduce wear on internal components. Fire valves provide an important additional safety measure, automatically shutting off the fuel supply if excessive heat is detected.

Attention to detail during this stage of the installation is essential to ensure long-term reliability and minimise the risk of future breakdowns or maintenance issues.

Boiler Commissioning

Following the installation work, we completed the commissioning of two new boilers. Boiler commissioning is a crucial final step that ensures the systems are operating safely, efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Our team carried out full testing and system checks before handover, ensuring the heating systems were functioning correctly and ready for daily use.

Whether we are completing a full installation or carrying out a boiler service, our approach is always focused on quality workmanship and dependable performance.
